Charles Rivera was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. He studied composition and improvisation at the New School for Jazz and Contemporary music in New York City. Charles has performed locally and nationally at NPR's World Cafe and Live Wire, South by Southwest, Gasparilla Music Festival, The Americana Music Festival and Conference, Boston House of Blues, 930 Club, and many others. He currently plays with STOOK, MINEcONTROL, Recreational Nukes, The Pleasure Boys, and also in small group settings under his own name.
